UZBEKISTAN AND KYRGYZSTAN: NEW SECTIONS OF THE BORDER BETWEEN TWO STATES DETERMINED
Bishkek has wrapped up the regular negotiations of the delegations of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on the delimitation of the state border, which lasted for nine days.
During the talks the parties continued their joint work on the determination of certain sections of the line of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border, on which the positions coincide.
Following the negotiations, the Protocol was signed. The talks were held in a traditionally friendly and constructive atmosphere, the press office of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.
Attaching great importance to the implementation of agreements to accelerate the legal formalization of the state border between the two countries reached during the meeting of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev at the SCO Summit in Astana, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov briefed by Ilkhom Ne’matov and Kurbanbay Iskandarov, the heads of delegations of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on the border issues, on the course of negotiations on delimitation of the interstate borders.
During his stay in Bishkek, the head of the Uzbek delegation Ilkhom Ne’matov also met with Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zhenish Razakov.
