UZBEKISTAN AND U.S. TO ESTABLISH COOPERATION IN AGRICULTURE
The delegation of the Ministry of agriculture and water resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan is on a state visit in the U.S. these days. It is comprised of rectors of Tashkent State Agrarian University and Andijan Agricultural Institute, as well as the management of Tashkent Institute of irrigation and mechanization of agriculture and Samarkand agricultural Institute.
The purpose of the visit is strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the U.S. in the implementation of advanced American technology and innovation in the agro-industrial complex of our country and expansion of bilateral university cooperation.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the U.S., the program of the visit envisages several meetings in Washington DC. The Uzbek delegation plans to discuss prospects for attracting U.S. investment in agriculture, the organization of mutual visits of specialists in this field and implementation of joint projects for the supply of Uzbek agricultural products to the U.S.
The delegation will also visit the University of Michigan and the Ohio State University to review their activities and to hold talks on the issues of further development of inter-university partnerships. These educational institutions are one of the largest universities in the U.S.
